Even though you are a kidney patient, please do not think that you can no longer go on holiday - even if you are on dialysis. Please see links below to the following excellent guides, written by two of the biggest National Kidney Charities in the UK.
EHIC Card
Reciprocal healthcare arrangements - please note that at the time of writing this:
The current EHIC cards are being phased out and being replaced by GLIC cards. Any current in date EHIC cards remain valid for all EU countries and Switzerland until expiry. All EHIC cards are being replaced on first application or renewal by the GHIC cards. The GHIC cards are free to all.
Holiday Grants
It is possible, depending on your financial circumstances, to apply for a grant towards the cost of your holiday from Kidney Care UK once every few years.
